Every website wants to be seen. And for that it requires to be filled with rich SEO content, so that on searching on any search engine particularly like Google it is within the first few websites. But what you didn’t know is that just by being SEO rich would not be sufficient for Google. Your website must also be mobile compatible.

With the increasing number of mobile phones, Google actually penalise those website which do not respond to mobile searches. The website cannot be made with a separate mobile-compatible site alone. It requires to be mobile responsive. Google wants to ensure that each user is able to access their choice of website instantly. There is no penalty on desktop compatible sites but there is if your website is not mobile responsive.

With the recent change in the algorithms dedicated to search rankings in respect of mobile friendly sites, Google will penalise those websites which do not fulfil its criteria. And how does Google penalise? It simply lowers your search ranking. So when your search rankings are lowered, your chances of being viewed also get lessened. It is thus advisable to have both desktop and mobile compatible sites.

Hence while web designing it is preferable to chose a mobile compatible design. You cannot have a website which does not underperform. The user needs to get a mobile compatible version of your home page not a separate home page. A mobile friendly website has a higher ranking in the eyes of Google.
